About Oh, Identi.ca
This blog is a collection of information about Identi.ca for new and existing users alike.
Microblogging has really picked up steam, and I love the community of friends that has unexpectedly grown and blossomed because of it.
However, we shouldn’t choose our microblogging tool lightly, as in the wrong hands, years or more of our data – our memories, our thoughts, our late-night brainstorming sessions – can be deleted, lost, or even held captive behind an iron gate.
That’s why I’m choosing Identi.ca. It may be the new kid on the microblogging block, but it’s clear to me that the developers behind it are passionate and dedicated to making it the premiere microblogging tool out there. The BEST thing about Identi.ca is that it’s federated, so, just like email, you can seamlessly send and receive messages with users on other [federated] services.
I think this philosophy just plain rocks, and since I’m not much of a programmer, I’m choosing to highlight Identi.ca here. I hope you’ll join our community, if you haven’t already. I look forward to seeing you around the network!
I am not officially or unofficially connected to Identi.ca in any way, besides being a passionate user.
